Rigging & Signal Person Training Class
Puget Sound Chapter, NECA is very excited to offer a 4-hour (half-day) rigging and signal person class that will be taught here at the NECA Office in Shoreline, WA. Washington State Safety Regulations require employers to use qualified riggers and signal persons during hoisting activities, hooking and unhooking a load, guiding a load, or doing the initial connection of a load. Attendees will learn how to assess, identify, and control hazards related to rigging and signal person duties. This course is free for NECA contractors and their employees. Boxed Lunches will be provided

Rhett Carpenter (Owner)

Rhett Carpenter holds a degree in Occupational Safety & Health Management from Central Washington University, with a minor in Risk and Environmental Management. He is a Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) and has extensive experience in both construction and general industries. Rhett provides safety, health, and environmental services to contractors and businesses across the Pacific Northwest, West Coast, and beyond. He also teaches various safety-related courses at the University of Washington and other organizations in the Puget Sound region. Additionally, he is an authorized Department of Ecology instructor, offering Certified Erosion & Sediment Control training and consulting. Rhett facilitates the Puget Sound Safety Summit Conference, a monthly meeting of safety professionals and contractors featuring industry-relevant keynote speakers.
