SUMMARY:Webinar: Run Your Whole Shop From One System with Podium
DESCRIPTION:Take advantage of this free webinar\, offered at no cost by NECA National! \nMost electrical businesses run on four or more disconnected tools: a scheduling app\, an answering service\, a spreadsheet for memberships\, with someone in the middle holding it all together. \nPodium replaces that stack with one A.I. Operating System. Every call gets answered by Larry\, your A.I. employee. He books the job on the spot and reaches out to maintenance customers before slow season hits. Operator\, your A.I. business manager\, runs the back office while your team is in the field. They fill open slots\, chase down unpaid invoices\, and follow up on estimates that never got a response. \nThe A.I. knows your schedule\, your customers\, and your open invoices because it’s running the same FSM your team is. So when Larry books a job\, it’s already on the board. \nJoin Jim Christian\, Podium’s senior director of product\, for a look at what that means for your business. \nDate: Tuesday\, November 3rd\, 2026 \nTime: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM PDT \nLocation: Virtual – Free to attend \nRegistration: Register Here

SUMMARY:A Comparison of Fault Managed Power (FMP) and Traditional AC Distribution in High Performance Data Centers Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Take advantage of this free webinar\, offered at no cost by NECA National! \nArtificial intelligence workloads have pushed data center power demand well beyond what traditional AC distribution architectures were designed to handle. Where 25–50kW racks once represented the leading edge\, AI training and inference clusters are now approaching 1MW per rack\, compounding pressure that was already building from co-location price increases of up to 30%\, competition from EV charging infrastructure buildout\, and state-level electrification mandates. The result is a power distribution supply chain under severe strain\, with transformer and switchgear lead times stretching past 100 weeks\, alongside a shrinking pool of skilled electrical tradespeople. \nClass 4 Fault Managed Power has emerged as a technology uniquely positioned to meet this moment. By transmitting high-voltage DC power as safety-checked digital “packets” over lightweight structured cabling rather than conduit and busway\, FMP collapses the distance between electrical distribution and IT-style installation practice\, even as rack loads climb toward megawatt scale. \nThis session presents an updated comparative analysis of FMP versus traditional AC architectures in large-scale\, high-performance data centers\, examining how each approach scales toward near-1MW racks. The talk revisits the technology’s core value proposition:\n•    Electrically safe operation of the data hall at extreme power densities\n•    Initial cost savings on the order of 33%\n•    Faster speed to deployment\n•    Space savings from reduced distribution equipment\n•    Built-in electrical power monitoring\n•    Fewer points of failure\n•    Lower long-term maintenance costs \nAttendees will leave with a clear framework for evaluating FMP as a viable\, disruptive alternative to conventional AC distribution as AI-driven power demands continue to accelerate. \nDate: Wednesday\, November 4th\, 2026 \nTime: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM PST \nLocation: Virtual – Free to attend \nRegistration: Register Here

SUMMARY:2027 NECA Basic Estimating Course
DESCRIPTION:NECA’s Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction course is a hands-on approach to the basics of electrical estimating. This three-day course focuses on understanding the cost components of electrical estimating\, instilling industry best practices\, all while developing a sound estimating process. Topics are presented in a lecture format followed by hand-on estimating exercises to reinforce the principles learned. Through the hands-on exercises participants will be expected to conduct a takeoff\, develop a material list\, lookup and apply labor units\, summarize the costs of the estimate\, and apply overhead and profit to the estimate. Each lesson builds upon the previous one\, with all the learning coming together through a simulated bid opening on the final day. \nStudents who complete the Basic Estimating Course may also take our advanced Estimating Strategies Course. For more information on the Advanced Course CLICK HERE \nWhen: February 1st – 3rd\, 2027 \nTime: 8 AM – 4 PM Each day \nLocation: Puget Sound Electrical JATC – 550 SW 7th St. Renton\, WA 98057 \nRegistration: REGISTER HERE \nFee: Your company will be billed $100 per registrant\, per course. \nLunch will be provided daily \nCourse Overview: \nThe Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction course will help participants to advance their knowledge\, ability\, and skills in electrical estimating beyond their current level of experience. The intent of this course is not to make each participant a seasoned estimator as that takes time and experience. This course will\, however\, provide insight into estimating best practices\, establishing an estimating process and challenge each participant to grow as an estimator. While computers will be used as part of this course\, the primary focus will be on the estimating process and how computers and technology are tools to make estimators more efficient and eliminate mistakes. \nParticipants of this course should already have a general understanding of electrical materials and methods used in commercial and industrial construction. This should include general knowledge of electrical symbols used in construction documents\, knowledge of various types of electrical materials and their use in electrical construction\, and basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). \nCourse Learning Objectives: \nThrough active participation and completion of this course participants will be able to: \n\nDefine estimating terminology\nRecognize and identify electrical symbols\nIdentify potential estimating errors and correct them\nUnderstand the costs associated with electrical construction\nPrepare an estimate for a commercial electrical project including identifying the scope of work\, organizing a material takeoff\, applying labor units\, summarizing costs and calculating a bid price for the project.\n\nParticipants will need to bring the following items to the course: \n\nA laptop or tablet running the current version of Microsoft Excel and the ability to open PDF files\nA measuring device such as a roller-meter multi-scale or hard-sided scale (capability to measure 1/8”\, 1/4”\, 1/2″\, 1:10 and 1:30 scales)\nHand tally counter\nHighlighters (colors to include yellow\, orange\, pink\, blue\, green and purple)\nRed pen or pencil\nPencil & Eraser\nCalculator\nNotepad or Notebook

SUMMARY:2027 NECA Advanced Estimating Course
DESCRIPTION:In this program\, participants will discuss all the phases of the estimating process. This course covers the various aspects of preparing and submitting a competitive bid. Key topics include identifying desirable bid opportunities\, analyzing the company’s capabilities to ensure profitable results\, the estimator’s role at various stages of the project\, writing an effective scope letter\, and identifying often hidden costs in the bid documents. Building upon the principles taught in NECA’s Basic Estimating course. Advanced Estimating Strategies focuses on the strategy and business decisions made during the estimating and bidding process. The course intends to help estimators and managers think strategically about how they find\, evaluate\, and bid on electrical construction projects. Participants of this course should already have an understanding and experience in estimating and bidding on electrical construction projects. This program is recommended for individuals who have successfully completed the Basic Estimating in Electrical Construction course or have similar industry experience.  \nAdvanced Estimating Strategies builds directly on the Basic Estimating Course. You must have completed NECA’s Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction course\, either this February or in a previous year\, before registering for Advanced.
